## What connecting a wallet is for

A wallet belongs to whoever created it. By connecting it, though, you open it up
to other people — you hand them its login credentials and they add it to their
own profile. It comes in handy when several members of a team send from one pool
of credit.

A connected wallet shows up in `My wallets` next to your own, so you can pay for
the messages you send straight from it.

> [!CAUTION]
> Anyone who knows the wallet ID and password can connect it and draw on its
> credit. Treat the credentials like a password and hand them only to people you
> trust.

## Where to find the wallet credentials

The **owner** of the wallet picks the credentials up and passes them to whoever
they want to share it with:

1. Click `Wallets` in the portal menu
2. Under `My wallets` open the wallet you want to share
3. Click the gear icon `Settings` in the top-right corner
4. Choose `Show credentials`

The `Wallet login credentials` window opens with two fields — `Wallet ID` and
`Password`. Both can be copied but not rewritten.

## How to connect a wallet

1. Click `Wallets` in the portal menu
2. Open the menu in the top-right corner and choose `Connect wallet`
3. Fill in the form:

| Field | What goes in it |
|:--|:--|
| `Wallet` | The wallet ID its owner gave you |
| `Password` | The wallet password |
| `Wallet name` | The name under which it will show up in your list |

All three fields are required. The portal confirms with `Wallet connected` and
the wallet appears under `My wallets`.

> [!NOTE]
> The name is yours alone — only you see it in your own list. The wallet is not
> renamed for its owner or for anybody else.

If the ID or the password does not match, the portal answers `Wallet not found`.
It does not say which of the two is wrong, so check both.

## What you can do with a connected wallet

A connected wallet is **read only** for you — the portal says so with a
`Read only` label in its detail. You can pay for sent messages from it and you
see the state of its credit, but you cannot change its settings, billing details
or notifications. That stays with the owner.

## How to remove a wallet

1. Open the connected wallet under `My wallets`
2. Click the gear icon `Settings`
3. Choose `Unlink` and confirm

Unlinking only cancels your connection — the wallet itself and its credit stay
with the owner. On your own wallet the same place offers `Delete`, which removes
the wallet permanently.

> [!TIP]
> The main wallet can be neither unlinked nor deleted — the option is simply not
> in its menu.
