Transactional SMS – examples (Advanced API)
Transactional SMS – examples (Advanced API)
Usage examples for Advanced transactional , API version 2.0. For alternative channels and the cascade see Channel cascade ; the examples below cover the request itself.
Several recipients
In version 2.0 number takes an array. All recipients get the same text.
POST /api/2.0/advanced/transactional HTTP/1.1
Host : portal.bulkgate.com
Content-Type : application/json
{
"application_id" : 451,
"application_token" : "NKN02TWE6NfBkfl-your-secret-token-Wf05GaqLIWLW4aBj" ,
"number" : [
"420777777777" ,
"420777777778"
] ,
"text" : "Your order has been shipped."
}
Recipients in one string
Numbers can also be passed as a single string separated by ,, ; or |.
POST /api/2.0/advanced/transactional HTTP/1.1
Host : portal.bulkgate.com
Content-Type : application/json
{
"application_id" : 451,
"application_token" : "NKN02TWE6NfBkfl-your-secret-token-Wf05GaqLIWLW4aBj" ,
"number" : "420777777777;420777777778|420777777779" ,
"text" : "Your order has been shipped."
}
Own text for each recipient
Instead of a plain number you can pass an object with text, variables and country. The text of the recipient wins over the top-level text; the second recipient has no text of their own, so the top-level one is used.
POST /api/2.0/advanced/transactional HTTP/1.1
Host : portal.bulkgate.com
Content-Type : application/json
{
"application_id" : 451,
"application_token" : "NKN02TWE6NfBkfl-your-secret-token-Wf05GaqLIWLW4aBj" ,
"number" : [
{
"number" : "420777777777" ,
"text" : "Order 4517 has been shipped." ,
"variables" : {
"first_name" : "John"
}
} ,
{
"number" : "777777778" ,
"country" : "sk" ,
"variables" : {
"first_name" : "Jana"
}
}
] ,
"text" : "Hello <first_name>, your order has been shipped."
}
Numbers and an administrator at once
admin does not replace number - the administrator is added to the recipients, see Transactional admin .
POST /api/2.0/advanced/transactional HTTP/1.1
Host : portal.bulkgate.com
Content-Type : application/json
{
"application_id" : 451,
"application_token" : "NKN02TWE6NfBkfl-your-secret-token-Wf05GaqLIWLW4aBj" ,
"number" : [
"420777777777"
] ,
"admin" : 154,
"text" : "Hello <first_name>, a new order has been placed." ,
"variables" : {
"first_name" : "John"
}
}
Scheduled send with duplicate protection
schedule accepts ISO 8601 or a unix timestamp. duplicates_check set to on drops a message with the same text to the same number within five minutes; tag labels the message for later retrieval.
POST /api/2.0/advanced/transactional HTTP/1.1
Host : portal.bulkgate.com
Content-Type : application/json
{
"application_id" : 451,
"application_token" : "NKN02TWE6NfBkfl-your-secret-token-Wf05GaqLIWLW4aBj" ,
"number" : [
"420777777777"
] ,
"text" : "Your order 4517 arrives tomorrow." ,
"country" : "cz" ,
"schedule" : "2026-09-14T09:00:00+02:00" ,
"duplicates_check" : "on" ,
"tag" : "orders"
}
The response is described in the specification .
